This hilarious tax-dodging comedy follows a pair of bumbling, tax-cheating bachelors whose ruse unravels when the I.R.S. comes to investigate. Jon and Leslie, who have been roommates for years, try to save money by filing their taxes as husband and wife, but the I.R.S. is suspicious and sends an agent to investigate. Leslie must pretend to be Jon’s wife, but the plan unravels as Jon’s mother comes to meet her son’s fiancée and the landlord doesn’t approve of unwed couples under the same roof. This wild play is like a ’70s style cross between “I Love Lucy” and “Some Like it Hot.”
