DESCRIPTION:Haydu Park ~ 253 Kalama River Rd.\, Kalama\, WA 98625 \n\n\n\nDay 1 Hours: 10 AM – 6 PM music until 7 PM\n\n\n\nSaturday Morning – (DAY 1) \n\n\n\nAdmission is free but you’ll need to purchase BBQ tokens to sample what the teams are cooking and you’ll need Beer tokens to wash it down. \n\n\n\nHead to the center of the event to purchase:  \n\n\n\n\nBBQ Tokens (Food available 11 AM – 7 PM)\n\n\n\nBeer Tokens (12 PM – Last Call at 6:30 PM)\n\n\n\nRaffle Tickets (Raffle Tickets drawn at 3:30 pm on Sunday)\n\n\n\n\nCash or Credit Accepted \n\n\n\nYou’ll also be given three tickets to vote for your favorite team. \n\n\n\nOUTDOOR MARKET OPENS\n\n\n\n10 AM \n\n\n\nSaturday Morning – (DAY 1) \n\n\n\n\nLocal hand crafted goods\n\n\n\nSnacks\n\n\n\nFace Painting\n\n\n\n\nWe’ve invited makers and crafters to bring their best PNW inspired goods to accompany the BBQ competition. \n\n\n\nRising Heights Dance Performance\n\n\n\n10:30 AM \n\n\n\nKalama’s own Rising Heights Dance students will kick off the entertainment on the stage on the lawn. \n\n\n\nBBQ Samples\n\n\n\n11 AM – 7 PM \n\n\n\nLook for teams selling samples and full plates along the outside perimeter of competition arena. \n\n\n\n\nTeams only accept tokens for BBQ\n\n\n\nSamples/Full Plates are $2 – $12\n\n\n\nPurchase tokens at tent between the competition arena and grass lawn.\n\n\n\nGrab your 3 VOTING TICKETS when you purchase tokens. Vote for your favorite team or your top three teams. It’s up to you!\n\n\n\nTables are set up all throughout event. Nothing is reserved\, so help yourself to a seat and fill out a survey while you eat. (surveys are at tables)\n\n\n\n\nBEER GARDEN OPENS\n\n\n\n12 PM – 7 PM \n\n\n\nTokens are $6 each \n\n\n\n\nBeer – 15 oz\n\n\n\nCider – 15oz\n\n\n\nWine – 5 oz\n\n\n\n\nBe prepared to show ID when purchasing tokens and again at the beer truck. Last call for alcohol is at 6:30 pm. You can take food into the beer garden\, but you cannot take alcohol out of the beer garden. \n\n\n\nLive Music\n\n\n\n12 PM – 7 PM \n\n\n\nPlease see the Music page for the band line-up. \n\n\n\nEND OF DAY 1\n\n\n\n7 PM \n\n\n\nAs BBQ teams begin to put their briskets on to cook\, and prepare for Day 2\, the rest of the vendors will shut down for the day at 6 PM.  Last call for alcohol will be at 6:30 PM .

Teams are focused on turning in their meat for judging and there will be designated servers ready to sell you some BBQ from 11 AM – 4 PM \n\n\n\nChicken\, Ribs\, Brisket\, and Pulled Pork will be turned in at designated times. Approximately 35 professionally trained judges will score the meats and announce the winners at a private award ceremony.
