The Lelooska Foundation has sponsored these programs since 1977. \n\n\n\nExperience magnificent Northwest Coast masks as they come to life in the glimmering firelight of a Kwakwaka’wakw ceremonial house. The Lelooska Family shares the songs\, dances\, stories\, and masks which display the rights\, crests\, and privileges bestowed on them by the late Chief James Aul Sewid. Chief Tsungani carries on the traditions of his brother\, the late Chief Lelooska\, performing with other family members in Ariel\, Washington\, 31 miles northeast of Portland\, Oregon. \n\n\n\nSeatingThe doors will open no earlier than 6:40 for seating. Seating is on a first come\, first served basis on traditional wood benches. If children will be part of your group\, please remind them not to play inour dirt floor. We ask that everyone remain in their seats during the performance. Late comers\, please do not open the front doors\, come around to the back. \n\n\n\nDressDress warmly and for comfort. A coat is a must even on a warm evening. You are welcome to bring blankets. We do not permit photography\, videotaping or audio recording during the performance.Thank you for your cooperation! \n\n\n\nIf you need special accommodations please let usknow\, we are happy to help. \n\n\n\nTickets are not refundable unless the event is cancelled.

The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens is a restoration project to honor the work of famed lilac developer Hulda Klager. It contains an 1800s house and surrounding buildings and Gardens. It is a National Historic Site. In 2023 we opened the NEW barn museum with many new exhibits. Annually\, Lilac Days celebrates the site\, Hulda’s work and raises funds to maintain the site. DESCRIPTION:Living History Performance\n\n\n\nExperience magnificent Northwest Coast masks as they come to life in the glimmering firelight of a Kwakwaka’wakw ceremonial house. The Lelooska Family shares the songs\, dances\, stories\, and masks which display the rights\, crests\, and privileges bestowed on them by the late Chief James Aul Sewid. Chief Tsungani carries on the traditions of his brother\, the late Chief Lelooska\, performing with other family members in Ariel\, Washington\, 31 miles northeast of Portland\, Oregon. \n\n\n\nThe performance you will witness was developed by Chief Lelooska\, Chief James Aul Sewid and tribal elders to share the history and culture of the Kwakwaka’wakw people. The Lelooska Foundation has sponsored these programs since 1977.
