Cougar
Offering a Wide Variety of Recreational Activities
Cougar’s name was selected by postal authorities, who chose from several wild animal monikers submitted by residents.
Located 28 miles east of Interstate 5 from Woodland on State Route 503, the town is home to the Yale Valley Art Festival each July.
Nearby attractions include Yale Lake, Ape Caves, and Marble Mountain Sno-Park.
Cougar is an excellent jumping-off point for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, boating, and fishing on the south side of Mount St. Helens.
